  • School starts on Wednesday!!!!

I am so very excited!  I have my locker, and have already stocked it with my school supplies.  I have handed in my application for the scholarship, and I am really hoping that I will get it.  This summer has been really hard on my body, and we need the extra money.

My best piece of school prep is the letter I received from the Dean of the Business School.  I made the Dean’s list for last year!  Yahoo!  It is validation that I am not stupid, which is one of the many fears that still plague me.

  • Another personality test.

The results of this test are really not much of a surprise for me.

Your result for The Best Thing About You Test…

    Compassion

Compassion is the most human of the virtues. And you? Your heart has limits far beyond normal levels empathy, and your capacity for feeling the world’s pain is boundless. You poor, beautiful, wonderful thing. All 7 virtues are a part of you, but your compassion runs deepest.

It is likely you’re an altruist. And it’s likely (but not necessarily true, think of Bono) that your humility score is high too.

Compassionate famous people: Brad Pitt, Mother Theresa, The A-Team.

Your raw relative scores follow. 0% is low, and 100% is perfect, nearly impossible. Note that I pitted the virtues against each other, so in some way these are relative scores. It’s impossible to score high on all of them, and a low score on one is just relatively low compared to the other virtues.

    YOUR VIRTUES

    70% Compassion

    33% Intelligence

    63% Humility

    44% Honesty

    38% Discipline

    43% Courage

    8% Passion

  • What my name means…

    From here

There are 16 letters in your name.
Those 16 letters total to 63
There are 5 vowels and 11 consonants in your name.

    What your first name means:

ScottishFemaleVariant of Jane; from the French Jeanette.
    HebrewFemaleGift from God.
EnglishFemaleGod has been gracious. A feminine form of John.

    Your number is: 9

The characteristics of #9 are: Humanitarian, giving nature, selflessness, obligations, creative expression.

The expression or destiny for #9:
The expression that you exhibit is represented bythe number 9. Your talents center in humanistic interests and approaches. You like to help others as you were intended to be the ‘big brother or big sister’ type. You operate best when you follow your feelings and sense of compassion, and allow yourself to be sensitive to the needs of others. You work well with people, and have the potential to inspire. This suggests that you could successfully teach or counsel. Creative ability, imagination and artistic talent (often latent) of the highest order are present in this expression. It’s possible that you’re not using or developing all of these capabilities at this time. Some of your talents may have been used at an earlier time in your life, and some may still be latent. Be aware of your capabilities, so that you can make use of them at appropriate times.

If you are able to achieve the potential of your natural expression in this life, you are capable of much human understanding and have a lot to give to others. Your personal ambitions are likely to be maintained in a very positive perspective, never losing sight of an interest in people, and a sympathetic, tolerant, broad-minded and compassionate point of view. You are quite idealistic, and disappointed at the lack of perfection in the world. You have a strong awareness of your own feeling as well as those of others. Friendships, affection, and love are extremely important.

Undeveloped or ignored, the negative side of the 9 expression can be very selfish and self-centered. If you do not actively involve yourself with work that benefits others, you may tend to express just the opposite characteristics. It is your role to be very involved with other people and their needs, but it may be difficult for you achieve this role. Aloofness, lack of involvement, and a lack of sensitivity mark the low road of this expression.

Your Soul Urge number is: 1

A Soul Urge number of 1 means:
Your Soul Urge is the number 1. With a Soul Urge number of 1, you want to lead and direct, to work independent of supervision, by yourself or with subordinates. You take pride in your abilities and want to be recognized for them. You may seek opportunities to display your strength and usefulness, wanting to create and originate. In your desire to manage the big picture and the main issues, you may often leave the details to others.

The positive 1 Soul Urge is Ambitious and determined, a leader seeking opportunities. There is a great deal of honesty and loyalty in this character. If you possess positive 1 Soul Urge qualities, you are very attainment oriented and driven to success. You are a loyal friend and strictly fair in your business dealings.

The negative side of the 1 Soul Urge must be avoided. A negative 1 is apt to dominate situations and people; the home, the spouse, the family and the business. Emotions aren’t strong in this nature. If you possess an excess of 1 energy, you may, at times, be boastful and egotistic. You must avoid being too critical and impatient of trifles. The great need of the 1 Soul Urge is the development of friendliness, and a sincere interest in people.

Your Inner Dream number is: 8

An Inner Dream number of 8 means:
You dream of success in the business or political world, of power and control of large material endeavors. You crave authority and recognition of executive skills. Your secret self may have very strong desire to become an entrepreneur.

I am not sure what all of this means, but as usual, I find it rather interesting.

  • My usual whiney post…

I was fortunate enough to have three of the last four days off.  Now I get to pay for that by working for the next 6 days straight. I can do it, and have done it several times already this summer, but I am not sure how much longer I can deal with my sciatic nerve making the job a royal pain in the butt.  I need to last until the last weekend of August.  I am off for two weeks starting that Friday.  School starts on Tuesday, 02 September.  I am REALLY looking forward to returning to school!

Speaking of school, I got two interesting pieces of mail from them the other day.  One was to tell me that I had first class standing for the winter term (3.94 out of 4.00 average) , and the other to tell me that I qualified to apply for a scholarship.  This is a small one, but I could use the reduction in my tuition, so I am going for it.  I suspect half of the members of my class have qualified to apply, so I am not pinning hopes on it, but it would be nice.

Hmmm… time to get off the computer and get ready for work.  I can do this.

  • Have a happy…

It was my database instructor who first brought my attention to The Letter. (When only 5 of 27 students show up for class, you spend more time talking than working, right?)  The Always™ slogan “Have a Happy Period” always offended me, but this letter seemed to diffuse some of the iritation I felt whenever I heard that phrase.  Now Always™ has gone one better; you can send out e-cards to those who need cheering up during that “special” time of the month.  GAG!

  •  Wow, I wasn’t sure my blog would still be here.  It would also appear that my subscriptions are finally working!  I thas been 2 years since that happened.

For anyone who still looks for me, I will give a quick update.  I am back in school, taking Information Management and Library Technology.  I aced my first semester with a 4.0 average.  This semester won’t be quite so good, but I am still doing well.

My typing speed has improved, problably from all of the computer work I am now doing.  I am writing more papers than I ever thought I would, or could. I am really enjoying school.  Too bad that I have to find a job at the end of next May.  I think I would rather just stay in school for several years.  I am still dreaming!

I hope everyone is staying warm.
